Why did my video or speech recognition take a few seconds to start?
When you use Crate Captions or Video Compressor for the first time, your browser downloads the optimized WebAssembly speech or FFmpeg binary once. Subsequent runs load instantly from your local browser cache without re-downloading.
Can I use Crate Tools on my iPhone or Android device?
Yes! All Crate tools are fully responsive and work seamlessly in modern mobile browsers including Mobile Chrome, Safari for iOS, and Firefox Mobile.
Is there any limit to the file sizes I can compress or transfer?
Because processing occurs locally in client memory and peer-to-peer via WebRTC, Crate does not enforce artificial server-side file caps. Performance is limited only by your device's available RAM.
Are my generated subtitles and videos royalty-free?
100% yes. You retain complete commercial and personal rights to all media and subtitle exports created with Crate Tools. Zero watermarks, zero attribution required.
