At Crate, we asked a fundamental question: What if the browser itself did the heavy lifting? With recent advancements in WebAssembly, hardware-accelerated Web Audio, and peer-to-peer WebRTC, your modern smartphone or laptop has more than enough compute power to perform professional audio transcription, video transcoding, and AI background removal in real time.

1. Zero Server Uploads
Your files never travel across the internet to our servers. Processing occurs entirely in local RAM and GPU memory. Once your browser tab closes, your temporary data ceases to exist.
2. WebAssembly Native Speed
We compile battle-tested open-source libraries—including FFmpeg for video processing and acoustic Whisper models for speech recognition—directly to binary WebAssembly bytecode running in background Web Workers.
3. Serverless P2P Networking
With Crate Drop, devices connect directly via WebRTC DataChannels using encrypted SCTP streams. Files stream device-to-device at full local network bandwidth with zero cloud relay.
4. Zero Watermarks & Zero Gates
No account registrations, no email collection, no subscriptions, and no branded logos stamped over your media. Every tool is built to be clean, fast, and creator-friendly.
Continuous Curation & Active Development

We firmly reject deceptive dark patterns: you will never see hidden download buttons, fake malware scan prompts, or pop-under windows on Crate. We strictly comply with the Google Publisher Policies to ensure a transparent, safe, and respectful user experience.
